You’re sitting motionless on the front porch but sweat still rolls down the back of your neck.
Your clothes cling to your damp skin and the humidity shrouds you like a blanket.
All is quiet save for the occasional passing truck and the constant hum of the fan which serves only to blow the hot air around but not to cool you down.
Even the cat can’t be bothered to raise a paw and swat away the flies that buzz lazily about.
It feels as though you’ll never be rid of this oppressive heat.
Nothing is cold enough.
The ice cubes in your lemonade dissipate as soon as they hit the glass and leave behind a watery residue as the only clue that they ever existed.
You can actually see the heat waves shimmering on the horizon.
It’s enough to drive a man crazy.
If only there was something that could take away this fever, something to soothe your parched mouth.
If only you had me to make you lemon iced tea sorbet.
Lemon Iced Tea Sorbet
3 cups water
1 ½ cups sugar
4 bags of Earl Grey tea
Juice and zest of 2 lemons
In a medium pan bring water and sugar to a boil and stir to dissolve the sugar. Add the tea bags and lemon zest, cover the pan, remove from heat and let sit for 20 minutes. Strain the mixture, add the lemon juice and chill until completely cold. Freeze according to your ice cream machine’s directions.

This sounds incredibly refreshing! You've officially got this tea-lover drooling. Can't wait to try it as soon as the weather warms up here.
That looks wonderfully refreshing!
Oh, that is brilliant!
what a great idea, you are so creative!
Fabulous! I love Earl Grey tea and can't wait to make up a batch of this cool beauty.
Just wanted to let you know that your "cool" post is featured on BlogHer today! ~ AK
That's mouthwatering!:)
Saw this post over at BlogHer and am making it RIGHT NOW. Thanks for the recipe!
I am out of Early Grey, though (*sob*) so I'm trying it with my Bigelow Royal Raspberry. Mmmmm, lemon raspberry....
(I am also out of Earl Grey. And spellcheck.)
I would kick this up a notch and do a half lemonade/half tea combo!
I love it. I think I'll make some this afternoon!! It is supposed to be in the 100's today. SHEESH.
Its 105 degrees here-I dont have an ice cream maker :( but Im thinking this would make a nice granita as well, easily made in the freezer.
hmmm something to make this weekend.
yummmmmmmmmm. i would definitely make that if i had an ice cream maker.
It was 55 degrees here this morning and I still want you to come make this for me!
Really cool, Brilynn
Jeff goes through so much Iced Tea... I'd love to do something like this just so he can enjoy it another way! What a great idea Brilynn. I second the "Arnold Palmer" suggestion to do half lemonade/half iced tea!
As a non-tea drinker, you very nearly had me sold on that one because it looks so wonderful. Do you think you could come up with something similar made with coffee though!
This is the perfect way to enjoy iced tea in my opinion. Thanks for the great tip!!!I remember living in Southern Ontario during those hot humid days!!!
It looks so cool and good :) Great post.
i gonna try this with my lemon slices from www.teacuppa.com
Hello, Brylinn. If only your text couldn't stop. I really enjoyed reading you. I could even picture evrything in my head: the truck, the flies, the cat and your iced tea sorbet. Love the first picture
Sounds great! I love a great iced tea on these hot days and this sorbet sounds way cooler. I am going to try make some right now with loose tea.
I seriously need an ice cream maker. Seriously. I love iced tea, and this sounds just wonderful!
This does look very good. Unforch winter has arrived here...currently 8'C and we are shivering under blankets. No sorbet for us!
80 % of the North American continent would probably pay you a king's ransom to make they some of this refreshing and icy delight.
What a fantastic idea!ze
Yum. Brilliant idea - that looks SOO good!
This looks so great, I'm certainly going to try it!!

Sounds so refreshing - the little tang of tea is such a cooler. Also love the Arnold Palmer 1/2 tea, 1/2 lemonade idea. Fab!
