Mille Feuille

Sugar High Friday #31 is upon us and this time Tara of Seven Spoons has chosen Neutral Territory- The Many Shades of White as the theme. My shades of white come in the form of homemade puff pastry and Crème Chiboust. As much as I’d like to tell you more about those, I can’t, but I will say that they’re a hint for a post to come. I actually had no intention of making mille feuille, (or my make-shift version of it) but Mom is always bugging me to make mille feuille and I never have, so when I realized I had leftover ingredients I figured it was the least I could do. I should have stuck some roasted rhubarb in between those layers too, but then I guess it wouldn't really fit the SHF theme. There are many shades of white, but I don't think pink is one of them.

HEHEHE! Shhhh! I won't spill the beans but I too had plenty of leftovers and guess what I made - mille feuille! LOL! I'm telling you I like you more and more Bril - our brains often tick in the same direction. Your's looks really fantastic and I love the shades of whites!

Puff pastry is one of those things that I made once, to prove that I could do it -- and then never needed to make it again!

I think 'angelic' is the word I need to describe these ;) They look perfectly puffy!

ROTFL!!! I just made mille feuille TOO! But your filling stayed between your layers where as mine ran down my layers. So, is all this a coincidence? Or a conspiracy? Or...

They look fab! I'm sending them to my daughter, who often does food in colorways. This is right up her alley!

I'm a sucker for cream oozing out of puff pastry...

I've never tried making puff pastry because it seemed like a hassle, but I reckon it's something you should try at least once. Lovely dessert!

Puff pastry...that's quite the undertaking! It's one of those recipes I did a couple of times so I could check them off my list (oddly enough, I decided to give puff pastry a try but never tried making fresh pasta?).

The layers looked delicious!
